Francine Jordi

Francine Jordi
Francine Jordi had her first stage appearance when she was 10 years old. She usually sang in tourist events in Spycher in Interlaken. With her sister Nicole, she sang in the band “Gospel Four”. At the conservatory in Neuchâtel she studied Voice and Piano. In 1998, she took the title The Fire of Longing for Switzerland and won at the Grand Prix of Folk Music 1998. On her 2004 release CD she sings a duet with the singer Florian Ast dialect called “tear”. This title brought the two in Switzerland already a platinum record and reached for the TV show “The biggest Swiss Hits” to second place. In 2009 she received along with the “Jodlerclub Sold Wiesenberg “platinum for more than 30,000 units of single-CD “The Feyr vo dr Sehnsucht”.

Boney M

As one of the most successful bands of the 70s and 80s Boney M has sold over 150 million records in its almost 10-year existence, including more than 50 million singles. Beginning in the spring of 1976 in Germany with the first single “Daddy Cool”, they sat down with great success until this continued well into the 80s. Founding member Marcia Barrett, who was born in Jamaica, in the late 60s from England moved to Germany, where she appeared at first as a dancer in a nightclub in Hamburg. The band has received over the years 50 platinum, 42 gold and 50 silver discs. They also were excellent in Germany by winning twice the Golden Europe (1977 and 1981) as well as Golden Tuning Fork (1983) and RSH Gold (1990). Their biggest hits are: “Rivers Of Babylon”, “Daddy Cool”, “El Lute”, “Ma Baker”, “Sunny”, “” Rasputin” and many more.

Chico and the Gipsys

CHICO COUCHICKHI has separated itself from the Gipsy Kings a few years ago. What sounds perfectly on paper, means far more to him. Finally, the band has been his family … and it is today. CHICO is the brother of the Reyes family, the “kings”. With them he founded years ago LOS REYES, which later renamed itself in Gipsy Kings. The music of Chico & The Gypsies is in the tradition of southern French and Spanish gypsy music settled and the musicians celebrate on the concert stage a spirited Fiesta of Guitars and wistful voices. On their album “Tengo, Tengo” instrumentation and timbre is broad, tender love songs and fiery gypsy music determine the fascinating basic mood of this work – guitar music from the finest. Earth, Windand Fire Experience

Who loves soulful dance music, the dancing already skipped to the rousing songs of Earth, Wind & Fire with security. Founded in 1969 by brothers Maurice and Verdine White, this super group of Funk & Soul remained until today unmatched in terms of precision of brass riffs and polyphonic choral singing. From 1973 to 1981 Al McKay was their guitarist and wrote with Maurice White, among others, the megahit «September», «Best Of My Love” and “sing a song». These songs, figuring – as the other EW & F Classic “Getaway”, “Boogie Wonderland” and “Fantasy” – in the repertoire of the 14-member all-star band, the Al McKay has gathered in his “Earth Wind & Fire Experience”. It brings the Funk & Disco Drive of the seventies like no other and ensures that neither a stiff hip one eye remains dry!

Andreas Gabalier

Andreas Gabalier brings new fresh air to the German folk music. He began the mutation from the musicians to the ROCKNROLLER people when he decided to go his own way creatively. Between 1959 and 1966, Rat Pack were together with Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davies Jr., in Las Vegas. They received the name in the rest of the known Hollywood diva Lauren Bacall, who said that these 3 look like a “rat pack” … Unfortunately, all the original members are well deserved “Swing-sky”, but thanks to our retro show live on the numerous hits, The Rat Pack’ers Bigband have a pure sound.

Paul Anka

The legend “Paul Anka” began in 1957 when he was then 16-year old, where he sang “Diana” and thus produced a million-hit. Al Bano Carrisi

With his unique voice and four and a half octaves (!) Al Bano Carrisi quickly became a crowd pleaser. For many years, he writes his own songs and in his nearly 35-year career were among a variety world charts with Sharazan, Prima Notte, Che Angelo Sei, Soltanto Tu, Liberta, Ci Sara, Sempre Sempre, and last but not least Felicitá, sold for Al Bano & Romina Power, in 1985 to six million copies. Toto Cutugno

Toto Cutugnos with his musical talent made itself noticeable at a young age. His father, an excellent trumpet player, his love of music encouraged him to live out. He taught himself way to autodidactic so he started playing the drums in order that shortly afterwards he was a part with local bands. He also learned to play the accordion. Italian winner of Euro Visions Festival, multiple successful participant at the ‘Festival di San Remo’, this elite singer-songwriter, either as an individual artist or as an author is a legendary for many other singers. Permanent guest in the charts of the Mediterranean area. A success story like this in Italy, they are even rarely!

Umberto Tozzi

Umberto Tozzi had some hits outside of Italy. His most successful song, “Ti amo” was later covered by Howard Carpendale and sold very good again in German. Umberto Tozzi was initially a successful guitarist and songwriter, later he himself began to sing. In early 70s he worked as a composer, among others for Mina and Lucio Battisti. His song “Gloria” came after the American Laura Branigan released the same title again and so had a worldwide Top Ten hit even among the top 10. Together with Raff Tozzi joined with the song “Gente di Mare” in 1987 at the Grand Prix Vision d’Euros and took place 3 after all.

Oesch’s The Third

“Ku-Ku-Jodel” or “The Jodel language” called their songs “Naughty Fresh Jodlerisch” is the title of the current Album of the musical. Swiss family that settles thousands of CDs at home and abroad and on television again an audience of millions enthusiastic people; they are young, modest, and highly talented and successfully – and across national borders and style. Oesch’s The Third stand for almost everything, and especially for one thing: folk music is music heart! One of the secrets of the family from the Bernese Oberland is probably the intergenerational composition of the formation, since there are three teens – Melanie (* 1987), Mike (* 1989) and Kevin (* 1990) – along with their parents on stage and make Swiss folk music, as if it was the natural thing in the world. Roland Kaiser

Peter Kraus
