Adele Laurie Blue Adkins, better known by her acronym Adele, is a British pop, soul, jazz and R&B singer-songwriter and eight-time Grammy winner. She became internationally famous with the album 21, which, with around 20 million copies sold, is one of the most successful albums of all time. In total, she has sold over 50 million records to date. She was the first solo artist to stay at the top of the album charts for sixteen weeks with her album 21. After appearing at the MTV Video Music Awards, "Someone Like You" became Adele's second number one hit in the US. The third single "Set Fire to the Rain" reached top chart positions worldwide solely due to download sales. This makes her the first British solo artist to have three singles from an album reach the top of the Billboard charts. "Rolling in the Deep" is another hit by exceptional artist Adele.
