Elîna Garanca has it all: musicality, technique, voice, self-confidence, intelligence, versatility and the looks of a movie star.
She was born in Riga in 1976 as a child of a musical
family born. In 1996 she went to the Latvian Academy of Music in her hometown. In 1998, while she was still studying, she had a decisive change
Experience: After only ten days of preparation, she sang the role of Giovanna Seymour in Anna Bolena and
discovered a deep affinity for the bel canto repertoire.

Staatstheater Meiningen, where she sang Octavian in Rosenkavalier. In 1999 she also appeared at the Savonlinna Opera Festival as Maddalena in Verdi
Rigoletto up and won the
Mirjam Helin Singing Competition in Finland. Since then she has performed in the major international opera houses and concert halls and, thanks to her
wonderful voice, musicality and convincing stage presence to the new stars of the music world. So
she received the European Culture Prize for Music at a gala broadcast by German television in the Dresden Frauenkirche; In 2009 she was awarded an Echo Prize for Aria cantilena - her first solo album on Deutsche Grammophon - and the Latvian Order of Three Stars.
