He was the high-flyer of the year: Luca Hänni was
become a superstar within a few weeks. And yet he stayed down to earth. Luca Hänni applied in 2012 for the ninth season of the singing talent show "Deutschland sucht den Superstar". He achieved that
Finale and competed there against Daniele Negroni.
In the end he won with 52,85 percent of the
audience votes.

Among the previous DSDS winners, Hänni was the only minor, and also the first
non-Germans. As a prize he received 500 euros and a recording contract with the Universal Music Group.

His first single "Don't Think About Me" reached gold status in Switzerland after 4 days and ranked in
Number 1 in the charts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. This made Hänni the first Swiss in 52 years to reach number 1 in the German charts.
