A performance at the New York Metropolitan Opera in "Adriana Lecouvreur" gave him the 1968
career breakthrough. In the three decades that followed, Domingo developed into one of the most successful tenors on the international opera scene, particularly brilliant in the difficult operas of Giuseppe Verdi and Giacomo Puccini.
With around 60 opera performances a year, which take him to the internationally renowned houses of New York,
Milan, London and Vienna, the tenor unfolded a feverish artistic activity. From 1990 he celebrated together with Luciano Pavarotti and José Carreras as “3 tenors” e.g. Great successes, for example, at the soccer World Cup in Italy and France.
