In 1977 Sting, Stewart Copeland and Andy formed
Summers formed the rock-pop band The Police in London. The group topped the charts with several albums beginning in 1978 and won six Grammys in the early 1980s. The Dream of the Blue Turtles (1985) was Sting's first solo album. From this he released "If You Love Somebody Set Them Free" as a single, which became a great success. Within a year, the album's sales reached triple platinum. Throughout his career, Sting has maintained his openness to different genres of music.
