In 1977 Sting, Stewart Copeland and Andy formed
Summers formed the rock-pop band "The Police" in London. The group made it to the top of the charts with several albums from 1978 onwards and won six Grammys in the early 1980s. "The Dream of the Blue Turtles" (1985) was Sting's first solo album. From this album he released "If You Love Somebody Set Them Free" as a single, which was a huge success. Within a year the album's sales went triple platinum. Over the course of his career, Sting has maintained his openness to different musical styles.
