JAMIE CULLUM

He stands on his piano, playing, singing and dancing at the same time: In his concerts in Germany, the Brit Jamie Cullum shows that you need rousing jazz not only by designed stage show. So he convinced jazz and pop fans – and ignored blinkered critics. He was the soul and the heart of a jazz music, says Jamie Cullum. But he was just another of those who make pop music, without apologizing for it. And he does not care about categories. Jazz or rock, this question does not seem to ask him. On stage, he goes with his band usually so energetic to the point that, you actually have to worry about the piano, whose keys he skin on which he sometimes stands and sings, and then jump down again and resiliently weiterzuwirbeln as unleashed.

What was that again with the crisis of the music industry? Was not it so that you can make music at best, as a hobby and has long ceased big hits to exist? Obviously anyone has forgotten, Taylor Swift to report on these developments. Born in Pennsylvania, as an overachiever she has impressed in the last two years in the United States millions of fans and bridges between different genres beaten while being quite incidentally, she became the ultimate teen sensation. And if we now – as it were in fast forward – again look at the success that Taylor has in the States for two years, is a clear, that it is largely due to how credible are her lyrics. Songs like “Our Song” and “Should’ve Said No” were (and still are!) songs, to which everyone could believe. Eventually everyone have so much faith in these songs that Taylor so just had to land on the top of the charts.
